The Clavinova CLP-875 B from Yamaha is a state-of-the-art digital piano that sets accents with its appealing, timeless design and first-class sound. The 88-key Grand Touch keyboard impresses with its linearly weighted hammer action. The surface of the keys has ivory-like coverings (Ebony & Ivory Touch), which gives the player a better grip and significantly reduces slipping. The white keys are also made of real wood. The pull-out keyboard cover protects the keyboard and technology from dust and dirt when not in use. The music stand has space for several sheets of music and, of course, a tablet. Operating the CLP-875 is even easier with the help of the Smart Pianist and Rec’n’Share apps, which are available free of charge for Android and iOS smart devices and expand the features and interesting points.

    Fantastic soundscapes

The digital sound generation impresses with the sounds of the two concert grand pianos Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial created using binaural sampling technology. Thanks to Virtual Resonance Modeling, these grand pianos sound amazingly authentic in the smallest nuances, which, together with the keyboard, makes playing them a pleasure. In addition to the two concert grand pianos, the CLP-875 provides access to a total of 38 sounds! The high polyphony of 256 voices is more than enough to ensure that no fading note is swallowed even when playing at high speed. To customize the sounds to your personal taste, there are seven reverb types, three chorus variants and twelve insert effects. The two psychoacoustic functions Intelligent Acoustic Control and Stereophonic Optimizer add that little bit of extra sound if required.

The advantages of the Smart Pianist app

The practical Smart Pianist app offers all smartphone and tablet owners with iOS or Android operating systems an even wider range of functions and, above all, even greater ease of use.

    • The Audio to Score function automatically creates a piano accompaniment in sheet music form from the songs on your smart device so that you can play along with the pieces directly.
    • With the automatic backing band, you have a dynamic backing band at your disposal at all times, which draws from a large pattern pool and has something suitable for different genres.
    • Some of the piano sounds contained in the CSP-255 originate from the world-class Yamaha CFX concert grand piano and the popular Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand piano. These were recorded in great detail using binaural sampling so that sound-influencing situations such as the location of the instrument (e.g. club, concert hall, cathedral) or even how wide the lid is open can be edited at the touch of a finger. In combination with the excellent keyboard, this is amazingly close to a real, large concert grand piano.

Last but not least, the app allows detailed setting options that only the instrument maker at the factory or a piano tuner can influence on a purely mechanical piano.

    A workhorse for composers

Keyboard players who write their own songs will love the recording function with 16 tracks in MIDI format. Sufficient memory is provided for 250 songsAudio recordings are also no problem with the CLP-875; the instrument stores audio files in WAV format with a length of up to 80 minutes on a separately available USB. Naturally, the CLP-875 is equipped with dual, layer and split mode for the keyboard. This makes it possible to distribute and layer two different sounds over the entire keyboard, regardless of whether you want to combine an organ sound for the bass part or a piano sound with strings.

    Powerful loudspeaker system

The speakers installed in the CLP-875 also benefit from many years of experience in the field of acoustic pianos and the development of high-quality speakers. Individual speakers for different frequency ranges produce a clear sound with depth. A total of six loudspeakers are installed, which achieve an output of 2x 45 W + 25 + W40 W. Using digital control via Grand Acoustic Imaging with 3D audio, Yamaha has succeeded in reproducing the sound atmosphere of a concert grand piano in astonishing detail.
